Cutflash ("we", "us") is an AI video-editing product based in Bend, Oregon, USA. This

What we collect
Account info — the username and password you create to sign in. Passwords are stored only as a salted, hashed value; we never see or store your plain password.
Media you upload — when you use the hosted editor, the clips you upload are processed on our server to produce your edit, then made available to you to download. Your files are kept in a per-account area and are not shared with other users.
Editing activity — the cut and color choices you make help the tool learn your style so future edits land closer to your taste. This is tied to your account and used to improve your results.
Feedback — anything you send through the in-app feedback tool, so we can fix bugs and prioritize features.
Marketing-site analytics — on this website we use the TikTok Pixel to understand how visitors discover Cutflash. With your consent it sets cookies and shares limited browsing data (e.g. pages viewed) with TikTok. We do not run the pixel until you click "Accept".
How we use it
To run the editor and deliver your finished videos.
To let you sign in and keep your work separate from other users.
To improve the product — including training the "learns-your-style" feature on your own editing choices.
To measure marketing (which channels bring people to the site) — only with your cookie consent.
Cookies & tracking
This site shows a consent banner on your first visit. Tracking cookies (the TikTok Pixel) stay off until you
choose "Accept". You can change your mind anytime by clearing this site's cookies/storage in your browser, which makes
the banner appear again. Essential cookies needed to keep you signed in to the app are exempt from consent.
Who we share data with
We don't sell your data. We use a small number of service providers strictly to run Cutflash:
Anthropic — AI processing (clip scoring). Frames/metadata needed for scoring are sent to Anthropic's API; they do not train on it.
Fly.io — hosting and storage of the app and your uploads.
TikTok — website analytics via the pixel, only with consent.
Stripe — if/when paid plans are enabled, Stripe processes payments; we never see your full card details.
Data retention
Uploaded clips and rendered outputs are working files and may be cleared periodically. Your account and the
style-learning data persist while your account is active. Ask us to delete your account and associated data anytime.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (e.g. EU/UK under GDPR, California under CCPA), you can request access to, correction of,
or deletion of your personal data, and you can opt out of analytics. To exercise any of these, email
cutflashapp@gmail.com and we'll respond.
Children
Cutflash isn't directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EU/UK), and we don't knowingly collect their data.
Changes
We'll update this page if our practices change and revise the "Last updated" date above.
